WILDFLOWER HIKE: Spring show still going strong
04/12/2026 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM PT
Location
Turtle Back trailhead
Description
Showy poppies, sapphire-blue lupines, and indigo irises—a color wheel is on display in the park right now. On this gentle hike, we’ll look for these and other wildflowers that strut their stuff in late spring and early summer, including sticky monkey flower, checkermallow, and brodeia. We’ll also be on the lookout for some delightful finds, such as California larkspur, mule ears, and owl and tomcat clovers.
FOCC volunteer Harriot Manley will lead this easy walk. She will also share tips on taking great photos of flowers with your phone. And to keep you identifying wildflowers on your own, she will show you how to use your iPhone to help ID plants in the field.
