As dusk falls, we’ll explore the trails around the campground, keying in the sounds of the darkening forest. We hope to catch the hoot of a great-horned owl, or the soft chur of a tiny Western screen owl. And we will look up into the twilight, catching the silhouette of bats as they whirl through the air, using sonar to locate flying insects.
